Blowing Rock officers responded to a fight-in-progress call on Thursday in front of the First Baptist Church.
Chief Eric Brown arrived to find that the incident was just an argument between a husband and wife traveling through the area.
The argument, it seems, stemmed from an age-old problem between husbands and wives … husbands refusing to stop and ask for directions.
Three people were charged with a larceny at Tanger Outlets on Feb. 19. At approximately 6:51 p.m., a Sunglass Hut employee reported that three people had just left the store who had stolen a couple pair of sunglasses.
Officers Dan White and Jordan Byland were able to stop the suspects as they left Tanger traveling north on Valley Boulevard.
The officers recovered the stolen merchandise and charged the people with the theft.
Patrick Matthew Vaught, 30, of Lenoir was charged with larceny and was also arrested on a warrant from Caldwell County.
Matthew Minton, 24, of Lenoir was charged with larceny and driving while license revoked.
Morgan Sigmon, 18, of Lenoir was charged with larceny.
An attempted break-in was reported on Feb. 18. Homeowners at a residence on New River Drive discovered some pry marks on the back door of their home. Entry was not made into the home and nothing was taken.
The homeowners were not sure how long the pry marks may have been on the door.
A theft of guttering was reported on Feb. 20. A caretaker at a home in the Laurel Park area noticed that a section of guttering had been removed from the back of a garage.
The incident is currently under investigation.
