Davie County Special Olympian Stephanie Jamie holds the ceremonial torch aloft alongside Appalachian State University senior patrol officers Marc Strickland, Daniel Harless and James Robertson during Sunday's opening ceremonies of the North Carolina Special Olympics Winter Games at Appalachian Ski Mountain in Blowing Rock. Jamie is one of three Special Olympians participating in the local event who will be representing the United States in the Special Olympics World Winter Games in South Korea next month.
