A bluegrass and barbecue benefit with a silent auction will be held for Blowing Rock resident Robin Coffey from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Blowing Rock American Legion building, behind the park in Blowing Rock.
Coffey was seriously injured on Aug. 30 after falling approximately 25 feet from a roof, sustaining a skull fracture, broken cheekbones, a broken rib, and shattered wrist.
He was airlifted to Johnson City (Tenn.) Medical Center, where he underwent surgery and was treated for his injuries.
He continues to receive physical therapy and hopes to return to work soon.
Friends and associates who know that Coffey is always willing to help others in their time of need are hosting the fundraising event to help cover the cost of his medical bills, organizers said. The event will include barbecue provided by Big Mo’s BBQ, with music by Surefire, The Martin Laurel Band, Robert Hunter and Glenn Bolick.
A $10 donation per person is suggested.
For more information or directions, contact Jennifer Coffey at (828) 964-6573.
