If you’ve ever been to a NASCAR race you’ve no doubt noticed the plethora of sponsors that are represented on the track, the cars and even the uniforms of the drivers.
It takes hundreds of business sponsors, both big and small, to keep the sport in the black.
Recent budget cuts to the state school system have left a gap in vitally needed supplies and tools that are needed for students’ educational needs.
Blowing Rock School is taking a NASCAR approach to the situation and has announced a new Blowing Rock School Business Sponsorship Program.
For a tax-deductible donation of $250 to the school, businesses and individuals will be represented with an engraved plaque placed outside designated classrooms.
A tax-deductible donation of $300 will be represented with a 2- by 4-foot vinyl banner, printed with the business name and logo.
The banners will be prominently displayed on the walls of school’s gym and printed in the school colors of green with white lettering.
The banners are highly visible to people attending school sports functions and community events, such as Winterfest, throughout the year.
The money received for plaques and banners will be evenly distributed among all the classrooms. Businesses have until Nov. 15 to be eligible for this year’s sponsorship program.
