Appalachian State University invites nominations and applications for one or more positions as Clinical Educator in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the College of Health Sciences. Positions are available for full-time 12 month, part time, and PRN.
Qualifications include a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology; CCC-SLP; eligibility for North Carolina licensure in speech-language pathology; 3 years of clinical experience with medical/neurological populations in the health care setting; Clinical expertise in diagnosis and habilitation/rehabilitation for individuals with speech, language, cognitive, swallowing, and voice disorders; trained and knowledgeable in the areas of videofluoroscopy, fiberoptic endoscopy examination of swallowing, and trach/vent care.
Preferred qualifications include experience in clinical supervision of students; strong written and oral presentation skills; good organizational skills with ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks; ability to work well with colleagues, staff, and students.
Responsibilities include clinical supervision of graduate students; provision of direct services; and the development and implementation of effective patient evaluation and treatment plans in accordance with federal, state, and professional standards governing the facility and the discipline. Primary work location will be in Appalachian Regional Healthcare System facilities in Boone, Blowing Rock, and Linville. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
