BR Women's Club hosts appreciation luncheon
The Blowing Rock Women's Club held its annual "Town Appreciation Luncheon" on Wednesday, May 18. Each year the club honors the town employees with a luncheon at the Town Hall.
Fried chicken was purchased from Food Lion (thanks, Food Lion for the $20 gift card) and members of the club contribute covered dishes, desserts and drinks to compliment the meal.
We do appreciate all the hard work the employees do to keep Blowing Rock such a wonderful place to live.
The Blowing Rock Women's Club raises each year from T-Shirt sales at Art in the Park.
All profits from the sales go toward scholarships for Watauga High School graduates who attended Blowing Rock Elementary School.
We have other projects throughout the year such as helping needy families at Christmas and Thanksgiving, contributing items to Blowing Rock Elementary School, and stuffing Easter eggs for three preschool egg hunts.
We welcome new members at all times.
We meet the first Tuesday of each month at a local restaurant, so please join us for fun, fellowship and opportunities to serve the community.
