Letters: It’s in my DNA
Dear citizens of Blowing Rock,
After much thought, prayer and serious consideration, I have decided to run for mayor of Blowing Rock, a decision I do not take lightly. I have no ax to grind, no hidden agenda, nor do I dislike or have any animosity toward our current mayor.
Instead, I am running for mayor because I am deeply committed to Blowing Rock (you might even say it is in my DNA). I was born in Blowing Rock and grew up working with my father, Sonny Klutz, at Sonny’s Grill, a true piece of Blowing Rock history. I married Ruthelen Hartley Klutz, who was also born here and we grew up together. We decided to stay in Blowing Rock, and raise our two sons here.
Together, my wife and sons and I operate our family businesses, The Restoration House and Possum Hollow Antiques. I have represented you on the Blowing Rock Town Council since 2005.
As the campaign unfolds, I give you my word that it will be conducted in a decent, honorable and honest way. Being a citizen of Blowing Rock means being part of an extraordinary community and our citizens deserve nothing less.
Tommy Klutz
