Mr. Worth Elzie Gentry, 102, of West Jefferson passed away Tuesday evening, June 26, 2012 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m on Friday, June 29, 2012, at Bethany United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, prior to the funeral service.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Jeanne Houck Gentry, on October 20, 2010.

Mr. Gentry is survived by a son, Tim Gentry, of Blowing Rock; a daughter, Suzanne Gentry Lewis and husband, Bryce, of West Jefferson; a brother, Hill Gentry, of West Jefferson; two grandchildren Pam Payne and husband, Marc, of West Jefferson and Jeff Lewis of West Jefferson; three great-grandchildren, Coleman Payne, Bryson Payne and Blake Lewis; several nieces and nephews also survive.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Bethany Cemetery, 495 Hwy. 194 South, West Jefferson, NC 28694.
