Mrs. Ora Trivette Hampton, of 210 Deerfield Road, Boone, died Thursday evening, October 13, 2011, at Watauga Medical Center.

Mrs. Hampton was born in Watauga County, a daughter of the late Franklin and Ida Parsons Trivette. She was a homemaker and a charter member of Deerfield United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Hampton is survived by one daughter, Sissy Hampton of Blowing Rock; two sons, Mack N. Hampton and wife, Judy, of Boone, and Morris D. Hampton and wife, Susie, of Blowing Rock; one grandson, Mackie Isaacs and wife, Shannon, of Boone; four granddaughters, Martha Pate and husband, Chris, of Purlear, Christy Tester and husband, Mike, of Blowing Rock, Brandy Wyatt of Deep Gap, and Jennifer and Julie Hampton, of Blowing Rock; and two sisters-in-law, Captola Trivette of Hickory, and Zadia Trivette of Lake Placid, Florida . She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dexter "Deck" Hampton; one son, Merrill Hampton; three sisters, Ruth Nelson, Ester Miller, and June Ashley, and six brothers, Walter, Spence, Ray, Joe, Ed, and Norman Trivette.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ora Trivette Hampton will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2011, at Deerfield United Methodist Church. The body will lie in state, at the church, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Evelyn Lemons and the Rev. Jim McKinney. Burial will follow in Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, at Hampton Funeral Service.
