Kenny Trivette

Kenny Trivette, 66, of 159 Hodges Miller Road, Blowing Rock, died Monday morning, Dec. 17, 2012, at his home.

Kenny was born Dec.31, 1945, in Lenoir, a son of the late Walter and Zaida Hodges Trivette. He was a retired supervisor for Watauga County Parks and Recreation and a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church. Kenny, first and foremost, enjoyed talking about Jesus. He was strong in his faith, which was often evident in his life. He also had many hobbies including woodworking and gardening. Kenny was also a problem solver and in general, a jack-of-all-trades.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Margery Wood Trivette of the home; two sons, David Kenneth Trivette and wife, Pam, of Blowing Rock, and Phillip Joel Trivette and fiancee, Emily Keith, of Warrenton; six grandchildren, Kyle Trivette and Kendra Trivette of Blowing Rock, Brittany Autrey and husband, Tom, of Spring Hope, Brandy Nichole Trivette of Knightdale, Danielle Trivette of Wake Forest, and Austin Trivette of Warrenton; two sisters, Nancy T. Wood and husband, Cecil, of Blowing Rock and Lake Placid, Fla., and Judy T. Gould and husband, Tommy, of Lake Placid; and one brother, Colburn H. Trivette and wife, Elizabeth, of Lake Placid. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Amy Trivette.

Funeral services for Kenny Trivette will be conducted 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Mount Vernon Baptist Church. The body will lie in state, at the church, from 1 to 3 p.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Bud Russell and the Rev. Greg Heisler. Burial will follow in Laurel Fork Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the church, prior to the service. At other times, friends may call at the home, 159 Hodges and Miller Road, Blowing Rock, North Carolina.

Flowers are appreciated, or memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Vernon Baptist Church Benelovence Fund, 3505 Bamboo Road, Boone, NC, 28607.
