Mrs. Emma Jean Brinker Bougher, 95, of Boone and formerly of Port St. Lucie, Fla., passed away Tuesday morning, Nov. 27, 2012, at Glenbridge Health & Rehabilitation Center.  A resident there for the past eight years, she was cared for with love and kindness.  Jean was born, June 4, 1917, in Greenburg, Pa. Most of her adult life was spent in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. with her husband of 57 years, Phillips Bougher.  Her joys included family, friends, art, travel and her garden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillips, and son, Charles Sherman Bougher.  
Survivors include one daughter, Joan Shirley and husband, Robert, of Blowing Rock; five grandchildren and ten great- grandchildren.
