Dorothy Beier Dunteman

Dorothy Beier Dunteman, 85, of Friendship Church Road, the Aho community, Boone, died Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 5, 2013, at the Davant Rehab & Extended Care Facility in Blowing Rock.

Born March 13, 1927, in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the daughter of Erwin and Amelia Murdock Beier. Mrs. Dunteman was a member of Laurel Fork Baptist Church where she attended Adult Sunday school classes and the Exploring Christianity programs.

Mrs. Dunteman is survived by her goddaughter, Jill Burns and husband, Chuck, of West Harrison, Ind.; godsons, Michael Dieckmann and wife, Karen, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Greg Collum and wife, Betsy, of Dublin, Ohio; and niece, Gina Swisher and husband, Brian, of Columbus, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Dunteman.

Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Boyd Coffey and the Rev. Lonnie Barnes. The family received friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to services, at Austin & Barnes. Burial followed at Woodlawn Cemetery in Blowing Rock.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
