Road construction suspended during holiday weekend

According to a spokesman for the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), construction work on the US 321 widening project in Blowing Rock will be suspended for the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
Construction work, and its subsequent traffic delays, will stop at 6 a.m. on Thursday, July 3rd and resume sometime after 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8th.
The stoppage will affect construction work from the Tanger Outlet Shoppes on the Parkway to Blackberry Road, south of the Green Park Inn.
