Officers keep busy with accidents and arrests

A 2004 Mitsubishi, driven by Kelsey Elizabeth Lechtner of Hickory, failed to reduce speed and struck a 2012 Lexus driven by Elizabeth Hart Harris of Raleigh.
No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $3,000.
A minor collision was reported on Buxton Road on Wednesday, Sept. 4.
Edward Lowell Spivey III of Lenoir was backing out of a driveway on Buxton Road when he stuck another vehicle.
The second vehicle, a 2011 Honda, was being driven by Joseph Alexander Springett of Blowing Rock.
No injuries were reported and damages were minor.
On Aug. 27, police responded to Sketcher’s Outlet at Tanger Outlets in reference to a larceny that had just occurred. Police arrived and located the suspect, Lucinda Bowers, 50, of Boone.
Bowers was charged with two counts of larceny.
All merchandise was recovered.
Lauren Elizabeth Leftwich, 21, of Burlington was arrested on Aug. 31. Leftwich was charged with driving while impaired. She was released by the magistrate on a written promise to appear.
Kieran Rice, 38, of Raleigh was arrested on Sept. 8 and charged with injury to property and being intoxicated and disruptive.
The incident began when officers responded to a call of a disruptive person at Six Pence Pub on Main Street.
Officers escorted Rice off of the property and helped him to his hotel room at Meadowbrook Inn.
Officers were later called back to Meadowbrook after Rice had allegedly become disruptive and damaged the ceiling in the hotel.
Rice was arrested and transported to the Watauga County Detention Center where he was held on a $750 bond.
