Horse show launches new website
The site — http://www.blowingrockhorses.com — went online May 10.
The site is significantly better than the older one; more comprehensive, more user friendly and generally more attractive, according to foundation officials. The site has specific pages devoted to The Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show Foundation, the Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show and the Blowing Rock Equestrian Preserve, a historic horse show and riding facility on Laurel Lane in Blowing Rock.
On the home page is a crawling news bar designed to keep web browsers up-to-date on the latest news from the Blowing Rock horse world.
The new site should be particularly useful for both spectators and exhibitors, as the 2013 Blowing Rock Horse Show approaches, officials said.
The show has been held for 90 consecutive years, with 85 of those years at the current location at the preserve.
The new website also includes links to area restaurants, weather sites and accommodations, such as motels, bed and breakfasts, resorts and cottages and cabins.
Visitors to the website can also find out all about the Blowing Rock Equestrian Preserve, including camping and stable rates.
The Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show includes three weeks of competition featuring 700 of the nation’s top hunters, jumpers and saddlebreds. This year it will be held June 6 through June 9, July 23 to July 28 and July 31 through Aug. 4. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ticket cost at the gate for spectators is $5 per day.
The public is invited to comment on site. Suggestions may be forwarded to Maurice Ewing at (email@example.com)
