Collision results in injuries

Jeff Eason

A head-on collision on U.S. Hwy. 321 caused a number of non-life-threatening injuries on Monday, August 13.

Witnesses stated that they were in a vehicle that was facing south on 321 and sitting in the left-hand turn lane waiting for an opportunity to turn onto Aho Road when a black Lincoln town car came up from behind them and passed them on the driver’s side of the stationary vehicle. The Lincoln then collided with a silver Honda minivan with Tennessee plates containing a number of adults and children.

The accident happened at approximately 3:15 p.m.

One witness said that the Lincoln was “fishtailing” before passing the vehicle in the turn lane.

Responding to the scene of the accident were personnel from Blowing Rock Fire and Rescue, Blowing Rock Police Department, North Carolina Highway Patrol and Watauga Medics.
