Brass at BRAHM

Staff Reports

The Blowing Rock Art and History Museum will kick off its third annual Summer Sunday Music Series with a concert by the Dasch Quartet at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 4.

The concert is sponsored by longtime BRAHM supporters Bill and Judy Watson.

Dasch is made up of graduate saxophonists from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, and has been praised by Classical Voice of North Carolina as “breathtaking” and “effervescent.”

The quartet’s members hail from the United States, England and Hong Kong and their musical selections reflect this diversity, drawing from the Classical, Romantic and Contemporary periods.

Recently, Dasch won both the North American Saxophone Alliance Quartet Competition and the North Carolina Music Teachers Association chamber music competition.

The concert will be held in the Museum’s acoustically superb atrium, and will be followed by a wine and cheese reception.

Tickets are $10.
